Passing through the heart of Santa Cruz de La Palma, we will set off for San Bartolo Viewpoint, located in the municipality of Puntallana, from where you can enjoy the best panoramic views of this eastern rural district.
After our visit to this charming place, we will then move on to the El Tendal Archaeological Park where we will get a closer look at the pre-Hispanic culture on the island of La Palma through the livelihoods and remains left by our aboriginal population, the Benahoritas.
From this place, we will continue on the way to Los Tilos Forest, home to one of the best examples of Canarian laurel forest in the archipelago.
After lunch in the northern municipality of Barlovento, we will take a walk through the recreational area of the Laguna de Barlovento, located in a natural environment characterised by the abundance of species of the Canarian Monteverde.
In the afternoon, we will visit the farmhouse of San Andrés, a historic-artistic site whose vernacular architecture retains that stately air that makes it one of the most historic districts of the island. There is no wonder that it was residence of wealthy families who devoted their lives and fortune to the cultivation of sugar cane in the 16th century.
From San Andrés, and scorted by the sea, we will head off to Charco Azul, will pass by the restored Lime Kiln and among banana plantations on this short section of the GR130 trail, which will take us about 30 minutes. This will be the end of our North Tour. From here, we will return to the selected point.
